Irony

A few days ago my Japanese host took me to dinner at a nice little seafood restaurant. We had katsuo (bonito) sashimi and seared aji (Spanish mackerel), among other things.

After a beer and a glass of sake, he told me that in coastal areas of Fujian, where he often does field research, people eat really disgusting kinds of seafood, which totally gross him out.
