Erma and I are spending the autumn in Seoul, studying Korean at Yonsei University. We'll be posting to this blog with updates on our experiences, pictures, and (there's no escaping it!) the occasional linguistic insight.
This is a glorious blog. I love the integration of the beautiful bright pictures that illustrate the narrative and also the depth that the Korean words both in latin letters and in Korean "characters" add so much "flavor" to the narrative. I look forward to this wonderful blog and the adventures of the protagonists as they live and study in Seoul. tweed41 in Nyack NY
Wow, it sounds like you guys have a lot of free time on your hands. Are your classes in full-swing yet? Are you just there for language instruction? If so, how friggin' cool! If not, that's still pretty friggin' cool! Is there a significance to Erma and Lance? Did you purposely pick names that Korean people can't pronounce? OK, back to work for me.

ReplyDeletePS, it's not 1:40 AM where I am. In case you were wondering.
ReplyDeleteThe pictures are really very nice -- colorful and crisp. Might we refer students of Korean to your blog?
ReplyDeleteMichael,
ReplyDeleteOur classes don't start until next Monday. We're pretty much just here for language instruction, but it's also a good chance to see Erma's relatives.
We've set the blog to display all dates and times for our time zone in Seoul. Just subtract 13 hours if you are on the East Coast!
